I believe in the fundamentals of functional medicine. Every person's body in different. One size does not fit all.
Many knowledgeable, recognized healthcare professionals have different views - vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian, raw, paleo, macrobiotic. What is right for you depends on your individual makeup. However, I have found that each dietary theory shares a few common beliefs - whole, single ingredient, plant-based foods are good for you. I believe in focusing on a diet filled with these foods, and "supplementing" with others. Ditch the processed. Focus on foods with one ingredient that have not been tainted by chemicals, preservatives and man-made fillers.
With my knowledge, we can co-create completely personalized actions based on your goals to move you toward your ideal vision of health within your unique body, lifestyle, preferences and resources. We can do it with practicality, humor and authenticity. I aim to work with my clients to discover the best match for them. Everyone has multiple characteristics that influence what their body likes and dislikes. It is important to look at the whole picture, weighing in exercise, background, tendencies, digestion, allergies, stress level, mental health, current lifestyle and background history to determine what is best. We can work together to acknowledge these factors and provide guidance that will lead you to nutritional success.
I work with my clients to get in touch with their body’s needs because I understand that life happens and your needs will change. I want to equip you with the self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. I believe each person is fully capable of making well-informed decisions as their own expert, not the latest magazine article or fad diet book.
Let’s define what you value most from your well-being. We’ll use these visions to motivate specific goals that bring you closer to where you want to be. Together we’ll co-create your health goals within reasonable time frames and actionable objectives so you know exactly what you’re working toward.
